During the spring of 2025, the Rock River United (RRU) Bobcats Trap Shooting Team had a blast.

For our first season, we welcomed several first-time shooters, including some who didn’t even own a firearm. Don’t let either of those circumstances stop you from joining the Bobcats.

Our athletes built confidence with every shot. With confidence they headed to the Illinois State High School Tournament at Bunker Hill. The Bobcats took home 3rd Place in the
Novice Trap Shooting Class 1A for their first season!

While the league’s priorities are first safety, second fun, and third marksmanship. RRU puts God first, followed by safety, fun, and then marksmanship. The RRU Trap Team prays before and after every event. By God’s blessing, we not only had fun but also had a blast at State.

The RRU athletes and their parents had a great time at State and are proud of our 3rd place win. We look forward to next season and all that God has planned for us.

Coach Gomez - "It was a blessing to work with the shooters to help them improve their shooting skills. Watching a novice shooter get set, yell “PULL”, track the clay, shoot the clay to pieces and then see the smile on their face is a great feeling."
